29 Faces--#7 and #8

I really don't think I'm going to be able tokeep up with 29 faces. But here are the last two of the four I started a couple days ago. I'm going to have to do something different for the next ones, as I have run out of white gouache. For some reason, when I was ordering gouache, I forgot to order white, and just had a little tube left over from something.

But I think these have a lot of possibility. I'm trying to tell myself not to get too fussy with them. The gouache and ink part is pretty crude, and it wouldn't fit to be fussy with the lines.

  1. keep going, keep going, ask questions later. this is a wonderful series, love the depth you are putting into it (the range of experimentation, time spent, variety of poses etc). inspiring. happy painting, even if you don't get the gold star for all 30 paintings, who cares? just keep going.

  2. I agree with Tanja, keep going. Maybe your lack of white will make something interesting and new happen? It's always interesting on my end to see what you've been doing. I left you something on my site. Enjoy!

  5. Great cross hatching! I am really loving all these drawings/sketches. And WOW! I can't believe the number of participants. Good Going, Ayala! Wish I had time to post on everyone's individual submissions.
