Some sketches

I guess I haven't been TOTALLY lax, even though I haven't "finished" anything. I have been drawing in my sketchbook, and here's a selection from the past month.
Dante and Devereaux in 3rd period Advanced American Lit.
Kathy's mother during a Lawrence Barn Dance Association board meeting.
Professional development day
Another page from the professional development day
Sherman Alexie from a book jacket
Some bearded Jesuits, maybe....

  1. Wow, your sketchbooks are looking good! Mine are more like the scrawlings of a madman. It's been a while since I sketched people like the good old days, but looking at your pages makes me want to find a coffee shop and draw. I like "professional development day" best.

  3. Hey, these look all finished to me :) The way you fill up the page is a lesson in itself, the compostions are all elegantly - ad lib - yet they work so well. And as always there is life in your sitters, they exist in 3d space and you almsot expect them to stand up and walk :)

I wonder what the people who are giving you lectures think while you are drawing away :)

Or are you giving the lectures and drawing? :)

  4. I really love these sketches, having more white space around them seems to show off your beautiful lines even better
