Old Woman with Cane

Here's the second of the "forced" portraits, that I'm making in hopes of getting back into the "inspiration loop." I really like the quote (Picasso??--that sounds about right) that Susan put in her comments on my last post: "Inspiration exists. It just has to find us working." It's SO true--I think of that for all the arts--visual arts, music, writing. I like this one a whole lot better than the last one, but it also is still just "showing up." I'm really trying to be there....

  2. I really like both Old Woman With Cane and Irish Pub Guy pieces of art. Makes me want to try that style. Also enjoyed seeing all of your sketchy art.

  3. The light is amazing, the texture, the way he is leaning on his cane...the wrinkles (we dont see enough of these in drawings our days, and still it should be seen as a normal thing in life, growing old) the all composition is great!! Your etching is so unique!! Keep on showing us your work!!

  5. Tilley, my dear, a lot of us would give our eye teeth to draw as well as you do when you're just 'forcing it!' You have such technical skill, and your drawings have such an emotional quality. Each person is clearly a unique individual. Well done....again!
