Illustration Friday: Poise
********** She is poised for eternity. It's been a good life, and she has no regrets.
On another front--thinking more about messiness and impatience, one really needs to treat those things just like another part of your media. You have the paper, the pens, the ink, your interests, skills, and personality, and you have to work with all of them. No sense in fighting any of it.

ReplyDeleteYour story about your gymnast colleague was so exactly how I feel! ( The illustrious 'neighbours' are Alan Lee, Brian Froud, David Wyatt, to name just 3 - they really are at the top of their game!)
I love your lined faces. They are so full of character - so much detail, and yet they feel very loose and free.

ReplyDeleteLove this drawing and I fully agree with what you say...my biggest problem is impatience but I've never thought of working WITH it. Perhaps with a little more practise, 'll get to where art is fully expressive; media, methods and me. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's a new idea for me too--one that I wouldn't have had if it weren't for people's comments.
