Cultivate joy in all you do! I had the pleasure of attending a period ball this weekend, and was amazed all over again about the joy in the dancers. EVERYONE was smiling as they danced. They beamed at each other, and I thought, "YES! This is the way that all of life should be." Dance is a good way to do that.

perfect! i love it. it is my favourite!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow... this is so nice... I can hear the music!! Must have been wonderful to attend that event!! Love the contrast of the light/dark... and the expression and movement is right on!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifull! I love the facial expressions!
ReplyDeleteSplendid illustration! I love the variety in your line - it lends a real energy to the image.
ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteYou really made pen and ink dance here! ...and ps I think you should keep sketching at your meetings. Don't let others intimidate you, you can't make everyone happy all the time. I think by sketching them you've only shown them how much you admire them. How can that be bad?
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
that beautiful scene!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a good hatcher! Lovely, visually and in sentiment.
ReplyDeleteCool illustration...
ReplyDeleteAs usual, amazing contrast and line quality! :)
ReplyDeleteJoy is expressed so wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteWonderful illustration and thoughts to go with it. They do look genuinely happy!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, you are right: we have to enjoy = cultivate joy, every single second of our life. Your ink drawing is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely drawing, remarkable use of the heavy cross-hatching to convey the lightness of dance.
ReplyDeleteYou are really good at pen and ink! Nice, nice, and double nice!
ReplyDeleteAmazing work!
ReplyDeleteAhh it's always a pleasure to click on your images.
ReplyDeleteWell the thing that came to my mind was the joy on their faces before I even read your attached words.
The vigor of the work is superb, love all the textures, and how you have arranged the tonal compostion to focus our eyes on the subject matter (and I never knew that consciously about neg space. It might help a lot in my work that doesn't work!
Wonderful sense of movement! Joyous!
