New Year's Sketches
New year's day jam with some great out-of-town musicians. And another sketch from a couple weeks ago.....I think at another music event. The funny (tough?) thing about sketching live people is that they're always moving, so you have to watch for them to put their heads back at the same angle you started. But it's all good.

Very nice! Love the expression on the banjo player. Both are great sketches!

The portrait at the top is gorgeous. I like sketching live people, good practice also to sketch people while watching DVDs. Do you have any sketchcrawls in your area? I think it's in several cities, where you go around with a group of people and sketch. A lot of fun. Of course, you're not in California - it would need to be in cafes right now for you.
