Over the new year miscellany

Christmas vacation is now officially over.  I have spent two days in various in-service meetings, some useful, others painfully useless.  I did a lot of sketching during the useless ones, but nothing worth scanning.  But here are the not-in-meetings things I've done during vacation since I posted last--not in any particular order.....

  1. The fourth in the row has an evil eye. I don't want to meet him in a dark alley :-)) But the portraits are really stunning; the last guy is a real masterpiece!!

  2. There are quite a few with a dark side here, which is great because I like to see variety in portraits rather than just pretty faces. They make me think of Leonardo drawings and I suppose you just couldn't get higher praise than that!
Dev says they remind him of the woodcut styles of the old woodcut masters. The first one and the last two, in a different style, are also just as marvellous to me.
I hope this makes it a morale-raising day today.
Also hope that you will be taking part in 29 Faces again in February, I enjoyed your faces so much in the challenge last year.
