Intaglio projects

I've been working on these plates once, and sometimes twice a week.  This is a fairly new one--three stages--one for some initial lines, which you could barely see because the acid had gotten too week, one for a printer-toner wash resist which has a really cool grainy wavery texture, and one for more lines.

This one is also fairly new, also three stages--initial lines, aquatint, and then more lines.  I'm pretty pleased with both of these.

The last two are ones I've been working on for weeks.  They were my initial "experimental" pieces, on scraps of copper I found in the box of scraps.  I'm very close to being done with them, not because I'm happy with them, but because I'm sick of them.

  1. Wow, these are fantastic! I especially like the middle one because of the great contrast between the light and shadow. I found your blog through Illustration Friday - your work is brilliant and very inspiring!
